Spring Mixed Case
A Fresh Mix of Our Favorites for Spring
BIG SAVINGS:
Every Bottle Discounted 20%!
Even though winter was mild, the sight of trees flowering and ramps at the green market are welcome sights.
And reminders that it's time for a spring mixed case.
A new season demands a new way of thinking about wine - it even demands some new wines!
As always, our spring mixed case offers the best deal on these wines: every bottle is 20% off.
To begin with the reds, on the light and elegant side there is 01 La Rioja Alta Vina Ardanza with its finesse and subtle beauty. In a similar, but nervier vein, 2010 La Kiuva is a universal staff favorite. It's a Nebbiolo-dominated wine from Italy's mountainous Valle d'Aosta region. To satisfy the season's heartier fare, there is the silky Chinon Bonnaventure from Coulaine and the old fashioned and muscular 06 Cotes du Rhone from Mourre du Tendre.
On the white side of things, there's Morin's 2010 Sancerre with its mineral refreshment. Anticipating asparagus, we've included a Gruner Veltliner, the classic pairing for this tricky vegetable, from Nigl. Finally, there's a fairly gutsy Italian rosé from Puglia by Cefaliccio.
Details on every wine in the mixed case are below - there's plenty to explore and enjoy.
And check out the website regularly, because as the seasons change, so will our mixed case. In fact, we will always have a tailored - and discounted - mixed case available online, so when these 12 bottles run out, don't hesitate to reorder.

Reds
2010 Roagna Dolcetto d'Alba
Rogna's Dolcetto is a favorite. The grape's soft purple fruits are on display, but what's really impressive is the wine's firm mineral streak.
2006 Mourre du Tendre Cotes du Rhone VV
Old fashioned Cotes du Rhone. There's plenty of muscle here along with earthy spice.
2010 La Kiuva Arnad-Montjovet
This is a snappy and silky Nebbiolo-dominated red from the rocky mountain vineyards of Valle d'Aosta.
2010 Bouland Chiroubles
Bouland's Beaujolais tend to be denser and more structured than the norm. His Chiroubles shows the more delicate and aromatic side of his style.
2009 Coulaine Chinon Bonnaventure
Coulaine's Chinon Bonnaventure is a gorgeous wine of silk, woodland spice and herbs.
2001 La Rioja Alta Ardanza Reserva Especial
Traditional Rioja from a great, well balanced vintage. Simply lovely in its elegance.
Rosé
2011 Cefaliccio Montepulciano Rosato
This fairly structured rosé from Puglia in southern Italy shows spicy floral notes and great persistence on the palate.
Whites
2010 Morin Sancerre VV
From one of Sancerre's top producers, this combines sleek minerality with great focus and refreshment.
2010 Clemens Busch Riesling Trocken
Clemens Busch's 2010 is simply thrilling. His slate-y Riesling trocken makes this very clear.
2010 Picq Chablis
Picq's Chablis is always one of the great Chablis values out there, and in the strong 2010 vintage it's cracklingly crisp, mineral and very, very compelling.
2010 Nigl GV Freiheit
This is a crackling and crisp Gruner Veltliner with plenty of citrus and spice notes.
2010 Pavese Blanc de Morgex La Salle
Another Valle d'Aosta entry - this time from very, very high elevation vineyards. A mineral laden wine with a sneaky and building richness.
