Spring Mixed Case
A Fresh Mix of Our Favorites for Spring
Every Bottle Discounted 20%!

Finally! It seems that spring is here. I left the market this morning with a bag of ramps, dandelion greens and other harbingers of spring.

So to kick things off, we've put together a spring mixed case of our favorites for the season - an almost even split between reds and whites to segue from heartier stews into lighter, brighter salads of real live green things!

As always, the spring mixed case offers the best deal on these wines: every bottle 20% off.

This season's spring mixed case is intrepid, ranging from Germany and Greece to France, Italy and California. The thread that unites all of these is a snap and freshness that makes them well-suited for the season.

To begin with the reds: There's Dupasquier's Gamay from Savoie. This mountain Gamay delivers herbs, minerals and delicious crunchy red fruits. Continuing the mountain wine theme, there's Clerico's Coste Sesia Ca Du Leria, a Nebbiolo blend, from the great 2010 vintage that's high energy and gorgeous. There's also Fattoria di Sammontana Chianti that delivers classic forest floor, bright acid and cherry fruit notes. Then we have Italy by way of California with Matthiasson's Tendu Red,a serious, thought-provoking quaffer based on Aglianico, Montepulciano and Barbera.

Moving to the whites: there's Morin's 2011 Sancerre Chene Marchand, which hails from one of the region's best vineyards. The quality of site shows in the wine's palate presence and mineral driven complexity. Hatzidakis' Assyrtico continues the mineral theme, but takes it in a darker, more saline direction. Koch Weissburgunder delivers one of the most precise and mineral expressions of that grape that we've encountered. Finally, there's Lafarge's overachieving Aligoté.

Details on every wine in the mixed case are below - there's plenty from all regions to explore and enjoy.

And check out the website regularly, because as the seasons change, so will our mixed case. In fact, we will always have a tailored - and discounted - mixed case available online, so when these 12 bottles run out, don't hesitate to reorder.

Reds

2011 Lambert Chinon Les Terrasses
Les Terrasses is a raspberry and mineral accented take on Chinon. This is a fresh and gulpable yet serious example of Loire Cab. Franc.

2010 Clerico Coste Sesia Ca du Leria
A bright and nimble mountain Nebbiolo-blend from the great 2010 vintage in Piedmont. It delivers ultra-precise cherry fruited accented with flowers, mineral and spice.

2008 Guy Bussiere Val de Saone Pinot Noir
From an obscure section of Burgundy, comes this beautifully expressive Pinot. There's some serious clarity, precision and depth to the earthy dark Pinot fruit.

2012 Knauss Trollinger S
A light German red from German's Wurtemberg region. Really lovely, impressively drinkable wine with a combination of earthy minerality and fresh fruit.

2011 Texier Cotes du RhĂ´ne
Texier makes one of our favorite Cotes du RhĂ´nes: balanced, elegant, spot-on.

2013 Matthiasson Tendu Red (1 liter)
A quaffing and food-friendly cuvée from one the most interesting and insightful people working in California. The Tendu is a blend of Italian varietals (Aglianico, Montepulciano & Barbera) harvested early to maintain a lively freshness.

2012 Fattoria di Sammontana Chianti
Our go-to Chianti. Classic notes of cherries and forest floor all backed by a vibrant acidity.

Whites

2012 Stein St Aldegunder Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett Trocken
This is a beautifully nimble and featherweight Riesling. This delivers a super-slate-y minerality and a singular lightness and incisive focus.

2011 Morin Sancerre Chene Marchand
From one of Sancerre's most famous and best vineyards. Morin's Chene Marchand has nice palate presence with classic notes of herbs and flinty minerality. An overachieving Sancerre.

2012 Duplessis Chablis Village
Duplessis always delivers a classic Chablis, but the 2012 version delivers Chablis’ signature minerality with a particular clarity.

2013 Hatzidakis Santinorini Assyrtico
An intensely mineral Greek white delivering saline, citrus and floral notes. Really lovely.

2012 Koch Weissburgunder Scheibenhardt
An impressively precise and mineral example of the Pinot Blanc grape. Perfect of spring vegetables.
