There are very few wines like Pradeaux being made in France today. Pradeaux is uncompromisingly old school.
Their Bandol Rosé is one of the most structured, complex, and ageable examples of the category.
Both the reds and rosés of Bandol are renowned for their depth, muscle, and ageability. Pradeaux's examples are unyieldingly classical. Their rosé is a dead serious and very compelling example of what makes Bandol a rosé like no other.
Based on a 50/50 blend of Mourvedre and Cinsault, Pradeaux's Bandol Rosé is rich and energetic. There's a nice mingling of herbal and floral notes offering up rosemary, thyme, lavender, etc. You also get mouthwatering ripe citrus. The 2021 edition offers a nice combination of power and freshness.
Pradeaux's Bandol Rosé has the structure to stand up to almost any food that you throw at it. It also belongs to a very small class of rosés that flourish in the cellar.
Along with Tempier, Pradeaux is the benchmark of Bandol. The estate has been in the Portalis family since before the French Revolution. Today, quality at the estate is remarkably high.
We suggest that you stock up on Pradeaux's Rosé. A bottle with five years of age is not to be missed.
