Summer Mixed Case
A Fresh Mix of our Favorites for Summer
BIG SAVINGS: Every Bottle Discounted 20%!
July 4th is just around the corner - how did that happen? With the green market exploding with summer vegetables, we figured it was time to assemble an eclectic collection of some of our latest favorites to get you through the summer.
Summer wine pairings call for a little extra consideration. You need plenty of light/crisp/fresh wine to revive, but you also need a few bold characters that won't shy away from the smoke coming off the grill. Not to mention, there's the challenge of what to pair with your eighteenth summer squash dish and that massive tomato salad.
The Summer Mixed Case, therefore, is a spirited group of wines that will cover all your bases - from barbecues through the mountains of summer produce and the long, lazy, carefree summer afternoons.
To make it even better, this Summer Mixed Case represents the BEST DEAL on these wines: a stellar cast of bottles, discounted 20%!
Starting with the whites, there'sthe Roulot Aligoté, a snappy-acidic, crisply citrusy white from the 2009 vintage - which is a particularly good one for this bottling. This is the perfect summer quaffer. And hailing from northern Piedmont, Ferrando's Erbaluce delivers herbs, flowers and alpine briskness that will revive you even after the hottest of afternoons.
There's also a lovely Sancerre rosé from Lauverjat, with soft red fruit and a firm spine (rosé Pinot is usually a good bet with all those heirloom tomatoes). Reds include a light-bodied Rossese from Bio Vio that's full of brushy, earthy cherry fruit, as well as a more robust Canary Island wine from Tajinaste with a fascinating and distinctive minerality.
Details on every wine in the mixed case are below - there's plenty from all regions to explore and enjoy. To order, please email us at offers@crushwineco.com or call the store at (212) 980-9463.
And check out the website regularly, because as the seasons change, so will our mixed case. In fact, we will always have a tailored - and discounted - mixed case available online, so when these 12 bottles run out, don't hesitate to reorder.

Whites
2008 Ferrando Erbaluce di Caluso Cariola
Erbaluce is an indigenous grape of Italy's Piedmont region. It's light in body and full of alpine freshness with floral, herbal and slight honey notes.
2010 Almondo Arneis Bricco Cilegie
Gorgeous Arnies, an indigenous grape from Piedmont. The nose is full of flowers, herbs, citrus and strong fruit. There's an impressive palate presence for a light wine and mineral thrust
2009 Louvetrie Muscadet Fief Du Breil
Jo Landron's 09 "Fief" delivers an appealing combination of crisp minerality that's classic to Muscadet, yet with citrus and anise notes and the extra weight of the ripe 09 vintage.
2009 Roulot Aligoté
From one of Burgundy's top producers, this Aligoté is always one of the best examples of the grape, but in 09 there's an extra level of concentration that complements the wine's incisive citrus notes.
2009 Berlioz Chignin
From the mountainous Savoie region in eastern France and based on the Jacquère grape, Berlioz's Chignin delivers rocky minerality and floral notes.
2009 Gauletteries Jasnières Clos St. Jacques
From the Loire's most northerly vineyards comes this nervy Chenin Blanc packed with mineral, citrus rind and quince.
Rosé
2009 Lauverjat Sancerre Rosé
Lauverjat's crisp and floral Sancerre rosé is 100% Pinot Noir and just plain lovely to drink.
Reds
2009 Bio Vio Rossese
From the Liguria region of Italy, Bio Vio's Rossese is light bodied and full of scrubby, brushy herbs and earth-inflected cherry fruit.
2009 Tajinaste Tradicional
This is soulful wine from the Canary Islands. It's complex and distinctive with dark fruit, smoke, earth and spices.
2008 Occhipinti Grechetto Rosso
Not to be confused with Sicily's Arianna Occhipinti, this Occhipinti is from Lazio. The Grechetto Rosso comes from volcanic soils and shows a fascinating mineral streak and dark perfumed fruits.
2010 Pepiere CĂ´t La Pepie
From Muscadet master, Marc Olivier, comes this medium bodied, delicious CĂ´t (aka Malbec) that's intended to be a vin de soif (a quaffer.) Dark fruits are saturated with minerals and woodsy spice.
2007 Cefalicchio Rosso
A naturally made Puglian wine that's a blend of Uva di Troia and Montepulciano grapes, this is very expressive and juicy, full of dark fruits and spice.
