Taittinger Comtes de Champagne:
1996-2008

Posted by Ian McFadden

When Comtes de Champagne is on, it can reach heights few Champagnes can achieve.

Today, we're happy to pay tribute to Comtes de Champagne with an offering that includes Rosé and Blanc de Blancs in magnum.

The Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs can show its share of richness, but its hallmark is one of elegance and impeccable class and breed. It is Taittinger's prestige cuvée, first released in 1952 and sourced from some of the Côte des Blancs' top Grand Crus (Avize, Le Mesnil and Oger along with a little Chouilly and Cramant).

Comtes de Champagne Rosé delivers a seductive texture while being ethereal and perfumed. The hallmark here is aristocratic breeding with super-fine layers of fruit. It is authoritative in its presence for sure but carries its stature with stunning sophistication.

I've had extraordinary experiences with both old Blanc de Blancs and Rosé Comtes de Champagne. It is also one of the most consistent Champagnes that I know. While looking at the list below keep in mind that quantities are very limited.
