"Terrific delineation on the beautifully complex and persistent finish"
- 2010 Mugnier Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale

I jumped on this parcel when I saw it. The 2010 has always amazed me.

To this day, the 2010 Maréchale stands out as one of the best I've tasted.

The 2010 Maréchale shocks with the level of elegance and purity that it delivers. Mugnier's signature of transparency, fineness, and regal elegance is on bold display. It's simply a beautiful wine.

Nuits St. Georges is known for its muscle and its characterful rustic edge. Without betraying the inherent muscle of Nuits, Mugnier's 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale renders an incredible amount of refinement. Maréchale is a monopole of the Mugnier family and always delivers well-delineated notes of earth, mineral, dark red fruits, and flowers.

This is a vintage where the finesse of Maréchale really announces itself. The wine's precision is jawdropping. I should let you know that quantities are extremely limited.

Burghound (June 2017): "An elegant, pure and still very primary nose reflects only a trace of maturity on the mostly red berry fruit, tea and soft earth aromas that are trimmed in all but invisible wood influence. The still strikingly intense medium weight flavors possess terrific delineation on the beautifully complex and persistent finish where the supporting fine-grained tannins remain firm but don't impart any austerity. While this could certainly be enjoyed now I would advise continuing to hold this for another 5 to 8 years as it's very much still developing."
