2012 Jamet Côte-Rôtie Half-Bottles

For decades, Jamet has been the benchmark of Côte-Rôtie.

Whenever we offer Jamet, the huge response drives home the status that Jamet enjoys. Our recent offer of the 2012 Côte-Rôtie was yet another reminder.

You can check out our recent offer here. The short version is that we love 2012 Northern Rhône. And Jamet really excelled in the vintage.

The 2012s possess a beautiful clarity and brightness. From Jamet, you get an ultra-fine precision and gorgeous balance. I've always admired Jamet for their perfume and deep core of minerality. And the 2012 really accentuates these.

Like so many places in 2012, production in the Northern Rhône was significantly down. Jamet is in short supply. We buy Jamet every year and this has been the hardest vintage to secure enough quantity for an offer. Half-bottles are especially limited. These are the only half-bottles currently available in the U.S.

Jamet has long been the name to know for classical Côte-Rôtie. Tasting a bottle of Jamet with age is often a mind-blowing experience - they are ultra-fine, finessed and have pinpoint detail. Jamet is blessed with owning some of Côte Rôtie's greatest sites. Careful, traditionally oriented winemaking allows them to coax an incredible amount of breeding from these great sites.

Every time we offer half-bottles of Jamet it sells out quickly. Whether it's for a specific pairing or to check-in on how a bottle is evolving, half-bottles are really useful and just fun to have around. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.

Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate: "Tasted from bottle, the 2012 Côte Rôtie is a rock star that’s hard to resist now, even though it won’t hit maturity for another decade. Olive, pepper, underbrush and sweet cassis-like aromas and flavors all flow from this medium to full-bodied, concentrated and textured 2012. Showing both the gamy, wild and perfumed style of Côte Rôtie, yet also fantastic purity, it has the approachable, rounded feel on the vintage and can be consumed anytime over the coming 15+ years."
