Clos de la Barre is one of Lafon's iconic wines. It's one of the greatest examples of villages-level white Burgundy, right there with the best from Coche and Roulot.

The site is a monopole. It is sourced from mostly old vines, including ones planted in 1950, with shallow clay soils over hard limestone subsoils; the wine is a mineral tour de force with plenty of class.

Lafon's 2024s are beautiful. They combine power and a suave refinement. The 2024 vintage produced white Burgundies of serious tension and rigor. The collection at Comtes Lafon adds silken texture and eye-opening intensity. They are brilliant wines. Â
The 2024 Clos de la Barre has an incredible drive and chiseled mineral core. The wine is bright and possesses a stunning, silky texture and overall harmony. It's dazzlingly finessed and multifaceted.
