The best '16s here are standouts"
- 2016 Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes

The heights of Ramonet are some of the great experiences in wine.

For many seasoned Burgundy collectors, Ruchottes is the quiet star of Ramonet's lineup.

I'm happy to offer Ramonet's 2016 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes at the lowest price in the country, $214.95.

With holdings in Montrachet, Bâtard, and Bienvenues-Bâtard, there are some serious heavy hitters in the lineup.

Still, what Ruchottes delivers for the money is formidable. When it comes to white Burgundy, Ramonent's Ruchottes overachieves to such an extent that it can compete with many Grand Crus. In 2008, Allen Meadows tasted a 1978 that was in top form.

Ruchottes is dense and tactile with a sleek chiseled minerality and a soaring tension that is Ramonet's signature. It's a wine that is ruthlessly focused with a gripping concentration.

The 2016 Ruchottes is a downright seductive wine. The mingling of power, length and elegance is beyond impressive. It's hard not to be taken by the incisive stony mineral and electric citrus notes.

Ramonet's 2016s are stunning. Stephen Tanzer says, "The best '16s here are standouts". There's no doubt that Ruchottes is a high note of the collection. It's also a tough bottle to find. You'll only find three other listings in the U.S.
