Niederhauser Hermannshöhle is Dönnhoff's crown jewel and the family's oldest site. It is without a doubt one of the Nahe's top vineyards. The wines rival the best anywhere in their power, length and elegance. Above all, Hermannshöhle has a refinement and completeness that separates it from the pack.

Over the years, dry wine from Hermannshöhle (both as a Spätlese trocken and later as a GG), has become some of our favorite wines. We've had so many mind-blowing bottles that it's hard not to have a deep affection for dry versions of Hermannshöhle.

The 2016 Hermannshöhle GG shows this bottling in top form. It's incisive, with a cool mineral precision and tons of elegance. There's beautiful length. It's lifted, long and amazingly clear.

If you're receiving this, it's a safe bet that you're well aware of the brilliance of the Hermannshöhle GG, so I won't belabor this. Just keep in mind that this is a wine that sells out quickly every vintage.
