Jouan turned out a beautiful collection of 2019s. The wines are finely tuned delivering both impact and energetic terroir imprints. The wines on offer today, the Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin "Aux Echezeaux", dramatize Jouan's success in this vintage.Â
The Chambolle is always supremely graceful with a hauntingly gorgeous perfume. This is a wine of transparency and heart-breaking delicacy. It strikes me just how intricate, expressive, and profoundly soulful it is.
While Gevrey-Chambertin is known for its meatiness and power, Aux Echézeaux is surprisingly elegant. It is located in the southern end of the region, right next to Morey-St.-Denis, and produces wines that are much silkier and more delicate.
Jouan's villages wines are among the Burgundies that we reach for the most often. They are simply gorgeous wines. We're very happy to have the opportunity to offer.Â
