The 2008 vintage in Champagne is possibly the greatest in the past decade. It's defined by sleek energy and balance, drawing comparisons to 1988. While 2002 and 1996 are defined by their power and ripeness, the 2008 vintage delivers energy, purity, and balance.

The Grande Cuvée is the ultimate expression of Krug; the wine the Maison considers their "Sun," around which all other Krug orbits. They will be the first to admit that Grande Cuvée is not only the wine they are most proud of, but it's also the most difficult and complex to produce. The 164th Edition of Grande Cuvée is composed of a blend of 127 wines with reserve wines from 11 different vintages dating as far back as 27 years.
The skillful blending in Krug's Grande Cuvée pulls off an incredible feat - it drinks well upon release, yet ages majestically. Certain releases age for decades. This 164th Edition has evolved beautifully.
