The Magic of Raveneau in Hi-Def
2012 Raveneau Chablis Butteaux

Being able to offer Raveneau has become a very rare luxury.

Today marks our first offer in two years. Raveneau is the undisputed master of Chablis and as the world has discovered this, finding the wines in quantity has become close to impossible.

Butteux has become one of my favorites from Raveneau. While this is quickly changing, Butteaux remains the most overlooked bottle in Raveneau's line-up. In Raveneau's hands, the site becomes a gorgeous weave of chiseled minerality, stone fruits and citrus. Above all else, Butteaux is about being linear and mineral. It's high-tension Chablis.

And this is why I can't get enough Butteaux. The elegance, minerality and energy are beautiful. Among Raveneau's 1er Crus, it's the perfect counterpoint to the power and richness of Montée de Tonnere. I've been fortunate enough to drink a decent amount of old Butteaux and the wine ages beautifully. Drinking Butteaux with a couple decades of age on it can be an absolutely mesmerizing experience.

2012 in Chablis is a vintage of outrageous purity. There's such a vivid mineral imprint and drive. As you can imagine, this is a year where Butteaux is breathtaking.

It seems pointless to even warn you that these offers always sell out - and quickly. Most of you are sadly aware of the deal with Raveneau. As usual, I'll ask you to give us your ideal order and we will do our best.
