First released in 2013, Foillard's Eponym along with his Côte du Py and Corcelette, form a holy trinity of his work in Morgon.
The Eponym really underscores just how attuned Foillard is to Morgon's different terroirs.
Eponym is sourced from a tiny parcel in Les Charmes. If Côte du Py is rich and wild-cherry-accented and Corcelette has a silky delicacy, Eponym is intricate, darker-fruited, and tense.
All Foillards have an amazing textural intrigue, but here you get a minerality that's profoundly tactile. We love the wine's energetic mineral streak and nuanced floral notes.
Eponym, the most nervous of Foillard's wines, really shined in the 2019. The ripe vintage endowed it with a presence and layers of complexity. Still, the wine manages a dynamic core of minerality and verve along with bright top notes that add a further impression of lift.
The 2019 represents Foillard's Eponym in top form. I'm very happy to offer it at sharp pricing.
