He simply has the touch with the Gamay grape. Few other producers manage to capture purity and texture the way that Foillard does. His Côte du Py gets to the essential wild cherry, mineral, and floral-tinged quality of the vineyard in an unparalleled way.
The 2022 vintage allowed Foillard to produce a layered and powerful Côte du Py with a vibrant core. We love the underlying structure that pulls everything together with its stony minerality. The wine is powerful and downright gulpable at the same time.
