The Other Dujac:
2014 Dujac Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Monts Luisants Blanc

Simply put, Dujac's whites are thrilling, eye-opening wines.

I've been aggressively hunting down the 2014s. Today, I'm very happy to offer Dujac's flagship white, the 1er Cru Monts Luisants Blanc.

Dujac hardly needs an introduction. This is one of the greatest domaines in all of Burgundy. But their whites are very hard to come by, and sadly overlooked.

Dujac's whites very much share a kinship with their legendary reds. They have Dujac's signature intensity and refinement, and possess exactly the same saturating, painstakingly composed quality that can nearly overwhelm the senses. But what's truly remarkable about Dujac is how the wines carry their intensity with poise and finesse.

The 1er Cru Monts Luisants sits above the Grand Cru Clos de la Roche. The lower section of Luisants is actually part of Clos de le Roche. Mont Luisants has a long history of producing standout whites. The very stony, poor soil and high altitude lends itself to incisive wines.

Dujac's Luisants Blanc is bold and powerful with incredible detail and stony minerality. The punch and explosive mid-palate always finishes with an impressively weightless, finessed and lingering minerality.

The 2014 seems poised to be one of the great vintages for the wine. Generally speaking, it's a vintage of extraordinary rigor, clarity and concentration. The 2014 Luisants has a radiant minerality with amazingly detailed length. It dramatizes the signature walk-on-tip-toe intensity.

I should close with a warning: this is very limited. It's taken me a very long time to amass enough 2014 Luisants for an offer and it's a safe bet that it will quickly disappear.
