Coche is world-renowned for his epic white Burgundies. Today, we explore a different side of Coche - his stunning work with Pinot Noir. We need to mention right from the start that the 2020 Coche-Dury Monthelie Rouge is very limited.

The reds are monumental Burgundies that age really well on their density and balance. Like the whites, they are very concentrated and show great detail with a riveting clarity of expression.
Coche's holdings in Monthelie are only 0.25ha. It's easy to imagine the wine and Coche's reds, in general, having a much larger status if the quantities were greater.
The 2020 Monthelie Rouge offers sappy, earthy minerality with a very lifted, finessed, and long finish. It has incredible complexity with spice, violets, dark minerality, and leather notes. The combination of its lavish dark fruited profile and buoyancy is really compelling.
I'm going to wrap this up. There are few producers that we offer who sell out as often and as quickly as Coche. I have no doubt that this small and very well priced parcel will disappear.
