Caillottes means “little stones,” a nod to the small pieces of gravel that dominate the limestone soils. The vineyard, just east of Monts Damnes, is planted with younger vines. The wine is defined by its focused minerality and punchy and lean framework.
The 2019 Caillottes dazzles with its crystal-clear purity and subtle complexity. There's a soaring and tension-filled profile to the wines. The way that the chalky texture pulls everything into an incisive harmony is impressive.
