The Pinnacle of Cote du Py
2010 Foillard Morgon Cuvée 3.14 750s & Mags

Foillard's 3.14 is easily one of the most sought after Beaujolais. And for good reason.

3.14 is the pinnacle of Morgon's best site, the Côte du Py.

Côte du Py is known for producing some of the most beautifully wild cherry scented, elegant and ageworthy Beaujolais. Foillard is the master of this site and 3.14 is his magnum opus.

3.14 is a bottle that's nearly impossible to find. It's taken us over a year to put together the small amount in this offer. The wine is only made in top vintages and is always produced in tiny quantities, but in the 2010 vintage it is especially limited.

3.14 debuted in 2003 and it is made only in vintages that Foillard thinks will make a distinctly interesting wine separate from his regular Côte du Py. 3.14 comes from the oldest vines, the most beautiful fruit and the best parcels. There's an overall greater sense of pampering beyond even his usual careful, uber-conscientious winemaking. Foillard also holds the release back three years.

2010 is a really impressive vintage of 3.14. Think of the 2007 version with more verve and more concentration. We recently opened a bottle with the staff and the next day nearly everyone had put a bottle or two on a sales order for themselves.

The 2010 3.14 delivers a nervy core that's surrounded by a dusty minerality and complex layers of wild cherry, herbs, spice and flowers. All of this is woven in silk. It's easy to go on and on about it, but that will only fan the fire. Besides, you already know the deal with Foillard and his 3.14.

I wish there were more to go around, but we'll take what we can get. Please give us your ideal order and we'll do our best.
