In Côte-Rôtie, Bénetière may very well be without peer in terms of balance, detail, and streamlined mineral elegance.
One of the reasons that we've always loved Bénetière's 2013 Cordeloux is that it consolidates all of these qualities brilliantly.
A few weeks ago, we offered bottles of the 2013. Today, we're happy to offer a very small parcel of magnums.
Along with 2010 and 2016, 2013 is one of our favorite recent vintages in the northern Rhône. The wines are mineral and structured with a vibrant core of acidity and very pure and detailed aromatics.
Côte-Rôtie is famous for being the most Burgundian expression of Syrah. Bénetière highlights these qualities with its lithe frame of jet-black minerals, floral notes, and dark fruits. There's intensity, for sure, but the presentation is nimble and bright.
With the 2013, Bénetière gets you incredibly close to the beating heart of Côte-Rôtie and its profound beauty. The wine delivers incredibly pure notes of olives, spice, flowers, and earth. It does this with tremendous verve, clarity, and punch.
Finding Bénetière in quantity has become very difficult. This is a modestly sized parcel that I expect will disappear quickly. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.
