"Beautifully pure, transparent and elegant"
2012 Hudelot-Noëllat Chambolle-Musigny
When an offer for a small parcel of Hudelot-Noëllat's 2012 Chambolle came across my desk, I jumped on it.
2012 represents a breakout vintage for Hudelot-Noëllat.
Since the arrival of Charles Van Canneyt, the wines have reached a whole new level. It was in 2012 that all of this momentum really clicked and catapulted the estate to a very elite level.
This is undoubtedly one of the best values in Chambolle-Musigny that we know of.
As a whole, Hudelot-Noëllat's 2012's show incredible poise and clarity. John Gilman captures the collection really well when he writes: "This is a beautifully pure, transparent and elegant set of wines that are absolutely the quintessence of great Burgundy!"
The Chambolle offers a beautiful snapshot of their wild success. It delivers the finesse, perfume and silken elegance that the best expressions of Chambolle do. Hudelot-Noëllat's style is one of luxurious textures that capture all of the sensual qualities of Burgundy. The Chambolle is especially captivating.
Finding Chambolle at this level and below the $70 price point often seems impossible. I'm willing to bet that these bottles will disappear quickly.
