The Singular Magic of Dujac: Lowest Price
2012 Domaine Dujac Morey St. Denis
"This possesses outstanding depth and length for its level."
-Burghound
Dujac is one of the elite estates of Burgundy. Their magic touch seems to respect no boundaries.
As I was reminded of recently, they make killer whites as well as reds. Even villages wines are elevated to shockingly impressive levels. I can think of few domaines where every bottle seems to transcend expectations by such a wide margin. If I were to draw up criteria for greatness, this outrageous top-to-bottom quality would be one of the most important.
As the Burghound quote above underlines, the 2012 Morey is a rocking bottle. It has become clear that Dujac's 2012 collection is special. For me, the wildly overachieving 2012 Morey drives their success home in a big way.
It's rare for me to taste a young bottle of village Burgundy with this much complexity, nuance and breeding. Morey's richness and muscle is on full display, but there's a beautiful polish, agility and sleekness that really wins me over.
That pretty much sums up the beauty of Dujac. Across the board, they are emphatic in the impression that they leave yet there's an ethereal dimension that's simply haunting - the perfume and whispering complexity of Dujac's wines separate them from the pack.
As I'm sure has become clear, the 2012 Morey will go down as one of the vintage's top village wines. Other offers of wines at this level and quality have sold out quickly (think of things like Fourrier's Gevrey.) Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
