In July, we offered Genot-Boulanger's 2014 Puligny 1er Cru Folatières. Today, we're happy to present their 2014 Chassagne 1er Cru Vergers.
The Vergers is the second part of a parcel of Genot-Boulanger's 2014s that I snapped up. It's one of the most exciting purchases that I've made this summer.
Genot-Boulanger's 2014s are seriously impressive. It marks the vintage where quality jumped to a profound level.
The wines are a pitch-perfect expression of the vintage, with amazing concentration, clarity, and harmony. The lineup perfectly captures all of the precision and lifted elegance that made 2014 a home run for white Burgs.
Génot-Boulanger's 2014 Chassagne 1er Cru Vergers is absolutely brilliant. Its core is full of crackling energy and stony minerality. This forms the perfect spine for the radiant stone fruits and floral notes. There's beautiful finesse.
Génot-Boulanger is a 4th generation family estate currently run by Aude and Guillaume Lavollée. Since they took over in 2008, we've watched the quality at the domaine soar. The combination of prime holdings and meticulous winemaking has recently put Génot-Boulanger on the map for serious Burgundy drinkers.
After Génot-Boulanger's stunning 2014s and even more so, their 2017s, people have taken notice of the wines. Their purity and detail really impress. Before closing, I should warn you that we have a very limited amount available, and seeing a 1er Cru from 2014 at this price is a rarity. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.
