There is no estate in the entire Rhône Valley making finer wines - 2012 Allemand Cornas Chaillots & Reynard

"There is no estate in the entire Rhône Valley making finer wines."
2012 Allemand Cornas Chaillots & Reynard

Allemand's are very special wines, the product of one of the most gifted and thoughtful winemakers we know.

For many of you this will sound trite. Allemand's skill is very well known.

Frankly, I'm surprised that I'm able to offer his 2012s. The combination of the short vintage, Allemand's ever growing status and the size of the 4.5ha estate has made things really difficult.

I'm a huge fan of 2012 Northern Rhône in general, but Allemand's 2012s are smoking. He took the balance, brightness and clarity of the vintage and elevated it in a huge way.

Of course, this is Allemand's calling card. Regardless of vintage, the wines are the most singular expressions of Cornas around. No one competes in terms of expressiveness and finesse.

It's hard not to agree with Vinous Media's Josh Raynolds when he writes: "let me state unequivocally that there is no estate in the entire Rhône Valley making finer wines."

Both the 2012 Chaillots and Reynard are pitch-perfect examples of these wines. Chaillots offers an ultra-focused, lifted quality with fine silky tannins. Reynard is deeper, darker, but no less finessed and breathtakingly precise.

With Allemand's reputation growing exponentially, I'm sending this offer with a fair amount of trepidation. I'm pretty confident that I'll spend my evening allocating this. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
