If Les Clos is all muscle and force, Les Preuses will beguile with its finesse. It's a wine of supreme length and clarity; it is a fine-tuned expression of Chablis.
Dauvissat's 2020s are really compelling. They offer up plenty of presence, but what really wins us over is their piercing minerality. There's an agile brightness to the wine that delivers loads of Chablis character and floral and citrus notes.
As is usually the case, Preuses represents a high point in Dauvissat's collection. Burghound's note captures the wine well: "The texture of the stony middleweight flavors immediately reminds one of just how classy Preuses is when it's 'on'". What's amazing about the 2020 Preuses is the amount of deep saline minerality and the soaring lift. It's a mind-blowing combination.
