"This is a stellar set of wines"
2021 Brovia Barolo: Brea Ca'Mia, Villero & Rocche

"This is a stellar set of wines from Elena Brovia and Alex Sánchez. Readers will find plenty to admire in these elegant, translucent Barolos." -Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

In the 2021 vintage, Brovia is clearly at the top of their game. Their 2021s serve as a reminder that Brovia is making some of the finest traditional Barolos around.

Today, I'm excited to offer three of Brovia's 2021 Barolos: Brea Ca'Mia, Villero, and Rocche.

The Brovia style isn't shy on power, but what makes them so impressive is their finesse and nuance. They lead with red fruits, but the backdrop is a kaleidoscopic mix of earth, herb, and flower. In 2021, the wines offer so much precision, soil tones, and overall length and harmony.

2021 is an ideal vintage to get a sense of the beating soul of Brovia's old vine holdings in some of Barolo's top Crus.

The 2021 Brea Vigna Ca’ Mia offers a richer, more layered, earthy, darker, truffle-y side. It pulls this off with regal lift and elegance. Villero is powerful, for sure, but compared to Ca' Mia, it's brighter, more pointed in its elegance, and has silkier tannins. In Rocche, you find a gorgeous balance between muscle and perfumed elegance.

We recently drank a bottle of 2013 Brovia Rocche, and it drove home just how great these wines can be. The 2021s show Brovia in top form. I'm very happy to offer these at sharp pricing.
