Müller's 2015s seem poised to become absolute legends.
Egon Müller compares his 2015s to his 1990s, which are amazing wines - some of the best of the past few decades.
We're excited to offer one of the greatest wines of Müller's 2015 collection, Scharzhofberger Kabinett Alte Reben Auction.
Our experience with Müller's Auction bottlings has convinced us that they exist on an even higher plane than his regular bottles. Yes, they are rare and expensive. With that said, these are some of the greatest wines in the world. For the few who know them well, they are legendary.
Müller's Kabinetts are a study in fineness, raciness, and complexity. Their beauty leaves you speechless. And Müller's Auction Kabinett takes all of this and kicks it up to an unheard-of level. They combine intensity and weightlessness in a way that's completely unique. It's hard for us to think of any other wine that pulls this off. It's a heartbreaking, utterly compelling combination.
The 2015 Kabinett Auction possesses incredible focus, balance, and nuanced depth. It's profoundly, and energetically, mineral and incredibly focused and long. Writing for Mosel Fine Wines, Jean Fisch and David Rayer, hint at the wine's world-class breeding: "the wine oozes finesse and elegance."
This is one of the monuments of the great 2015 vintage. I felt really fortunate to land this small parcel. I should warn you that I expect it to disappear.

2015 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger
Kabinett Alte Reben Auction
Special Bottle Price: $279.95
Mosel Fine Wines: "The auction Alte Reben Kabinett offers a shy but hugely impressive nose in which scents of wet stones, white flowers and chalky minerals dominate a gloriously complex set of citrusy fruits at this early stage. While backward, the wine oozes finesse and elegance on the palate and leaves a gloriously mouthwatering feel in the long grapefruit infused finish. One is left with a seemingly endless cocktail of minerals, herbs and finely sizzled scents of citrusy fruits in the after-taste. This is a superb effort and one of the best Scharzhofberger Kabinett we have ever tasted. This wine is THAT impressive. But do not expect an early charmer: This will require (much) patience."
