Drouhin is unusually successful in ripe vintages, like 2019. In this vintage, it elevated the Chambolle to a level that I haven't encountered before.
They really nailed the vintage as the Chambolle makes clear. It's wonderfully graceful, delicate, and pure. Burghound captures the wine well when he calls it "precise, refined and energetic."
Chambolle is one of the most beautiful expressions of red Burgundy. Few people capture the sheer glory of the village as well as Drouhin. The 2019 Chambolle is a powerful reminder of just how exacting their work here is.
