"This is a very fine Gevrey villages that is well worth considering." -Burghound
Bachelet's Gevrey is famous for boxing well above its weight class.
Along with Roumier's Chambolle and Mugneret-Gibourg's Vosne, Bachelet's Gevrey is one of the villages wines that collectors buy cases of and drink over decades.
The vines average 60 to 70 years old, with the oldest dating back to 1932. You definitely sense the old vines in its depth and intensity.
We offer Bachelet's Gevrey nearly every vintage. With that said, the 2022 is particularly exciting. As we've said before, we are big fans of Bachelet's 2022s. They have plenty of concentration while being bright, expressive, and joyful. We think that Burghound is spot on when he writes, "If you can find the Bachelet '22s, don't hesitate."
The 2022 Gevrey is amazingly silken, pure, and mineral. It's been a long time since I've encountered a vintage of Bachelet that worked so harmoniously on all of these levels.
Everything adds up to a red Burgundy that will age beautifully. Bachelet is a perfectionist who always seems to overdeliver.

Burghound: "A softly oaked nose consists of slightly cooler aromas of red currant, newly turned earth, humus and a whiff of the sauvage. There is a bit more volume and mid-palate concentration to the more mineral-inflected flavors that deliver slightly better depth and persistence on the impeccably well-balanced finale. This is a very fine Gevrey villages that is well worth considering."
