2022 Bachelet Côte de Nuits-Villages

Bachelet's Côte de Nuits is always one of the sweet spots in his impressive lineup.

Typically, Côte de Nuits can be characterful, but also rugged and rustic. Bachelet takes the appellation to a nearly unimaginable level of textural elegance and ageability.

For me, it's the Côte de Nuits where I think the greatest value is in Bachelet's lineup. Year after year, this is one of my go-to bottles.

We are big fans of Bachelet's 2022s. They have plenty of depth while being bright, expressive, and joyful. We think that Burghound is spot on when he writes: "If you can find the Bachelet '22s, don't hesitate."

Even in the context of Bachelet's Côte de Nuits, the 2022 boasts an unusual amount of silkiness and refinement. It has a stony core along with a subtle soil-inflected minerality that's rendered with incredible precision. There are ultra-clear layers of red fruits.

Bachelet works on an elite level. The 2022 Côte de Nuits-Villages drives this home.

Burghound: "A pretty and expressive nose offers up the perfumed essence of plum and dark currant along with more subtle earth and hints. The delicious, energetic and well-detailed flavors culminate in a rich if mildly austere and sneaky long finish that is beautifully well-balanced. This is also very good for its level."
