In short, this is a bottle that punches above its weight class.
For the past decade, things have clicked into high gear at Bachelet-Monnot. Each vintage the wines seem to go from strength to strength.
That is certainly the case with the 2022s. The Chassagne AC exemplifies their incredible success in this vintage. It's gripping and intense with lift and focus. There's serious length for a villages wine and a gorgeous tapering elegance on the finish.
In 2005, brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet founded Bachelet-Monnot. In no time their wines were turning the heads of even the most seasoned Burgundy tasters. At this point, Bachelet-Monnot's wines are nearly impossible to keep in stock. Word is definitely out.
Bachelet-Monnots are revelatory expressions of Burgundy. The 2022 Chassagne underscores the caliber of winemaking at this domaine. I wish availability were better, but I'm happy to have at least this modest parcel to offer.
