Gouges is one of the legendary producers of Nuits St. Georges, and Vaucrains is undisputedly one of its greatest sites.

In Gouges’ hands, Vaucrains is intensely concentrated and extraordinarily vivid, with an ultra-clear transparency. There are seemingly countless examples of Gouges' Vaucrains that have aged brilliantly.

2014 is a vintage that distills down so much of what I love about Burgundy. There's incredible clarity, subtlety and poise to the wines. Above all, it's a classic vintage in the most compelling sense. Gouges' 2014 Vaucrains lays bare the beating heart of the wine.

The 2014 Vaucrains has the masculine, savage character that we’ve come to expect from the site, but there’s also plenty of lift and pristine mineral punch. The palate is wild with dark fruits, earth, and spice, all giving way to an explosive finish.
