Alzinger produced a beautiful line-up of 2013s. Their purity is just stunning. As they always are, Alzinger's 2013s rank among my favorites of the vintage.

With all of this said, Liebenberg is the biggest surprise. The 2013 Liebenberg reached a level of serene clarity that stands as a monument to what's great and special about Alzinger.
Liebenberg has a reputation as being a warmer site, but Alzinger's is sourced from the highest-elevation. Here you get a very intricate, subtle and precise expression.
Alzinger's Liebenberg is more flowers and mineral than fruit. It's incredibly fine and long. There are few wines (if any) in Austria that come close to delivering whispering delicacy and cool minerality the way that Alzinger's Liebenberg does.
The 2013 is absolutely stunning. The 2013 vintage in Austria is very likely the best vintage we've seen in over a decade. Its hallmarks of fine-ness and vivid minerality dovetails perfectly with Liebenberg's signature.
This is an absolutely beautiful bottle of Riesling. It represents the best value in Alzinger's line-up. Plan for it to grow increasingly complex over the next 7-10 years.
