Three Decades Young: 1988 Lauer Sekt Reserve

Posted by Joe Salamone

Lauer's Sekt Reserves have redefined how we view the category. They are simply extraordinary.

Today we present the absolutely riveting 1988 Lauer Sekt Reserve. We can be direct here: This is one of the greatest late-release Lauer’s we have ever tasted. It is also one of the smallest releases so we will have to allocate sharply, buyer be warned!

The 1988 is captivating. We're huge fans of the vintage in Germany and the vintage's mineral driven purity and verve works perfectly in Lauer's Sekt.

The 1988 Lauer Sekt emerges from the glass with fine threads of bright green herbs, highlighted by citrus and stone fruit. The mid-palate is finessed, detailed with mineral and yellow fruit, all lifted by the razor-sharp Saar acidity, that bright energy that makes the Saar magical.

I'll wrap this up. Lauer is one of the most beloved producers at Crush. For more on Lauer, we strongly encourage you to listen to Florian Lauer's I'll Drink To That! interview.

This is one of those offers that shouldn't be slept on. It shouldn't surprise you that we're expecting a very strong turnout and the quantities are tiny.
