As we've said in previous offers, Jouan thrived in 2020. The fine-tuned grace of Jouan's wines makes them stunning in warmer vintages. The vintage endowed Jouan's Chambolle with an extra dimension of texture and nuance.
Today, I'm excited to offer Jouan's 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin "Aux Echezeaux."
While Gevrey-Chambertin is known for its meatiness and power, Aux Echezeaux is surprisingly elegant. It is located in the southern end of the region, right next to Morey-St.-Denis, and produces wines that are much silkier and more delicate. Along with its signature intricacy, the old vines that the wine is sourced from give it a haunting depth. The 2020 is both a darker and beautifully agile example of the wine.
Jouan's villages wines are among the Burgundies that we reach for the most often. They are simply gorgeous wines. We're very happy to have the opportunity to offer.
