Transcending Boundaries: Enderle & Moll Ghost Wine

Posted by Joe Salamone

Enderle & Moll's Pinot Noir Rosé transcends the normal boundaries of what one might expect in a rosé.

You can put this wine on the same hallowed short-list as wines like Cotat’s Chavignol rosé, Chateau Simone, Lopez de Herediá’s Tondonia rosé and Valentini’s quirky yet beautiful Cerasuolo. That helps explain why we're doing a rosé offer in February.

Sadly, the quantities of Enderle & Moll's Rosé are always so small that our offerings have been very limited.

Today, we're happy to offer our modest parcel for $27.95 on bottles and $24.95 in 4-packs.

Out of all of their work with Pinot, their rosé is one of our favorites. Though it’s labeled “rosé,” in truth, this wine has more to do with an ultra-light red. It is deep, serious, and beautifully structured with incredible complexity and an expansive presence.

What makes the 2018 edition so exciting is that it flaunts the power and concentration of the vintage without being weighed down by it. It offers up layers and layers of perfumed, red Pinot Noir fruit with lots of spice and balanced by cool minerality and a suave acidity. Enderle & Moll nailed the vintage, perfectly.

While 2018 was a generous vintage, Sven Enderle and Florian Moll farm less than five hectares, so even their highest-production wines are relative rarities. The rare wines, well, they are ghosts. Currently, you'll only find 3 listings for any vintage of Enderle & Moll Spätburgunder Rosé in the country.

Like every offer from Enderle & Moll, we expect this to sell out quickly. Please give us your ideal order, and we’ll try our best.
