Prüm's 2021 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese is a legend in the making. The wine is riveting. It possesses exhilarating aromatics, gorgeous transparency, bracing herbaceousness, and tautly calibrated acidity. All of this is nicely complemented by a beautiful silken texture.
Along with Egon Müller and Willi Schaefer, Prüm has provided me with the greatest number of stunning old bottles of German wine. Everything is in place for the 2021 Spätlese to age beautifully.
Simply put, this is a don't miss vintage for the wine. It is an utterly classic Mosel Riesling of the highest order.
