The Châteauneufs of Henri Bonneau exist in their own universe.
Bonneau's unyielding traditionalism reaches its zenith in the Célestins bottling.
Célestins can age for decades upon decades without breaking a sweat. It is a wine of unmistakable magic.
In 2015, Châteauneuf produced very powerful and immensely textural wines. The 2015 Célestins possesses a mind-blowing grandeur and multi-dimensional personality. It's a wine brimming with sauvage elements and mystery. Powerful layers of fruit and spice are wrapped around an intense core of iron, mineral, and game.
Sadly, Henri Bonneau passed away in 2016. He was the revered old wise man of Châteauneuf. Anytime I have the opportunity to drink one of Bonneau's wines I get very excited. They are some of the most utterly singular wines. I'm very happy to be able to offer the stunning 2015 Célestins.

Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: "A clear step up over the Marie Beurrier release, the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve des Célestins was the star of the show on this occasion, and this tannic, full-bodied beauty would no doubt be loved by Henri. Cassis, earth, garrigue, licorice and assorted black fruits all emerge from this deep purple-colored effort and it’s tannic, structured and deep."
