Last week, we offered Levet's seriously impressive 2020 La Chavaroche. Today, we're excited to present the 2020 Les Journaries.
Les Journaries comes from 45-year-old vines primarily from the famed “La Landonne” vineyard. Compared to Chavaroche, Journaries is more elegant and graceful. Both wines are made following traditional methods that highlight the untamed fascination that northern Rhône wines can possess.
The 2020 vintage at Levet is profoundly good. The wines combine a depth of complexity with an incredible architecture. The 2020 Les Journaries possesses great concertation, but also has a dynamic mineral quality that creates an added sense of elegance and energy.
Les Journaries is unapologetically old-school northern Rhone rendered with amazing clarity. We're always excited to offer this wine, but please keep in mind that quantities are very limited.
