Les Journaries comes from 45-year-old vines primarily from the famed “La Landonne” vineyard. Compared to Chavaroche, Journaries is more elegant and graceful. Both wines are made following traditional methods that highlight the untamed fascination that northern Rhône wines can possess.
The 2022 Les Journaries has an immediacy that its typical fortress-like structure seldom delivers. There's a nice precision and core of finesse. While the structure is buried, it's certainly present, and the wine will continue to evolve really well for the next 10-15 years.
Levet’s wines are some of our favorites from the northern Rhône. They are true masters of old-school Côte-Rôtie.
