Pascal and Fabrice Agrapart are masters of terroir.
For all of their class and impeccable breeding, their Champagnes also come across as undeniably honest expressions of terroir.
Agrapart is easily one of my favorite growers. Last week, we offered the 2007 L'Avizoise. Today, I'm happy to offer the other half of my recent Agrapart back-vintage purchase, the 2010 L'Avizoise.
I've enjoyed Agrapart's 2010s since their release. They are dramatically intense and possess an incredible purity, detail, and tension.
The Côte des Blancs had the biggest success in 2010. The most diligent growers and producers turned out crystalline, energetic, and sleekly mineral wines.
As we said last week, L’Avizoise comes from the clay-rich soils at the top of the slope. It’s undoubtedly the most powerful wine in Agrapart’s lineup. It stands out for its combination of presence and length with exacting focus, lift, and finesse.
The 2010 L'Avizoise combines fine-ness, precision, and elegance with an impressive power and punch. The combination is absolutely thrilling. It weaves a chalky kinetic verve with brash intensity.
When L'Avizoise hits on all cylinders, it's a breathtaking bottle. The 2010 is a very compelling example of this. It shouldn't be missed.
