I have a soft spot for Bussière.
I've had so many great experiences with the wine that it's impossible not to.
John Gilman captures Bussière well when he writes, it's "deep complex and very long-lived... and is very deserving of a place in any conscientiously-stocked Burgundy collection."
The 1er Cru Clos de la Bussière sits in the southern section of Morey at the border of Chambolle and is a monopole. It lies below the Grand Cru Clos de Tart and has very stony soil.
The 2018 is a fascinating version of the wine. It possesses some of the vintage's enveloping fruit character but also has real snap and minerality. Neal Martin sums up the wine well when he calls it "very focused and fresh".
Bussière ages beautifully. A bottle of 1995 that we drank a few years ago was gorgeous and still holding plenty in reserves. Sadly, as with all Roumier, quantities are limited. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.

Neal Martin, Vinous Media: "The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos de la Bussière 1er Cru offers blackberry, briar and crushed stone aromas on the nose, which is nicely focused but not powerful. The palate is built around chalky tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Very focused and fresh, with an almost sorbet-like finish. Roumier said this was the first to be picked and when he analyzed the must, the pH was 3.16 and he thought the laboratory had made an error."
