"The palate is medium-bodied with finely chiseled tannins, very poised, airy and transparent yet with real weight and presence on the finish. Bon vin!" -Neal Martin
Bachelet-Monnot's 1er Cru La Fussière Rouge has become one of the essential red Burgundy values of the store.

Brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet turn out breathtaking Burgundies. The domaine was founded in 2005 and almost immediately attracted the attention of even the most seasoned Burgundy buyers. Maranges is their home turf, and they elevate the appellation far beyond what you'd expect.
The style of Bachelet-Monnot is animated by impeccable balance and precision. Their Maranges bottlings maintain an expertly judged rustic edge that stays true to the appellation. However, they also manage to tease out an extraordinary amount of finesse from their sites.
The 2023 Fussières Rouge is a joyous example of the wine. It has depth and a suave texture, along with being luminous and having well judged edge on the finish. Above all, I'm really impressed by the purity of fruit.
This is a bottle that I'm very happy to have in our arsenal. Red Burgundy with this level of interest and class at this price point is exceedingly rare. Don't miss this.

Neal Martin, Vinous Media: "The 2023 Maranges La Fussieres 1er Cru Rouge is blended with 30% whole bunch. This has an understated bouquet with light earthy red fruit with sous-bois and mineral scents. It opens succinctly in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with finely chiseled tannins, very poised, airy and transparent yet with real weight and presence on the finish. Bon vin!"
