Rosé season is here. As has become our yearly tradition, we're hosting a grand tasting of 12 different rosés. You get to vote for - and thereby crown - the rosé champion of 2013.

Yes - it's free! - but it's going to be BIG, so you must RSVP to events@crushwineco.com. Please let us know how many people will be in your party. Please specify one of two windows below:

Session one: 5:30 to 6:30pm
Session two: 6:30 to 7:30pm

War of the Rosés is undoubtedly one of our most popular events - this year marks our eighth annual tasting.

Rosé seems to perfectly capture the laid back, carefree and joyous moments of summer. As we say each year, a picnic under a shady tree in the park with a glass of rosé and a pan bagna (an essential, moist and messy Provençal sandwich that you must try) is pure bliss. And for those heartier meals where a white won't work and the temperatures make red wine unthinkable, rosé comes to the rescue.

But rosé can - and should! - be more than just a summer fling or some clichéd "rose-colored glasses" marketing scheme. While it may not quite reach the heights of the world's best whites and reds - although we'd argue strongly that Cotat's and Chateau Simone's versions come darn close - rosé is a legitimate wine, and its infinite incarnations merit considered tasting.

War of the Rosés offers the perfect opportunity to taste rosé in all its delicious variety. On offer will be rosé from Provence and Languedoc (based on Rhône varietals), Sancerre, Beaujolais , and Austria. Of course, there are also excellent selections from California.

Please remember to RSVP to events@crushwineco.com. Then join us and pick your favorite rosé for the summer. All rosés poured will be offered at 10% off, while mixed or solid cases will receive a 15% discount. And of course, don't forget to vote!
