"The wine is dry but superbly elegant on the palate with a present but incredibly well-integrated acidity... This dry wine is an incredible success!" -Mosel Fine Wines
That Weiser-Künstler has perhaps shaped one of the most linear, most mineral, most saline, transparent, and incisive dry Rieslings of the vibrant 2022 vintage is not all that surprising.
What is surprising is that we have been able to gather enough wine to put together a small offering for our email list. This is something we can rarely do.
The price is also shocking. This is one of the top village-level dry Rieslings of the vintage, from one of the greatest estates in the Mosel, and we are able to offer the Trarbacher Trocken at $28.95.
The prices of German wine, as we've long predicted, is rising, but there are still profound values to be had. This is about as serious as it gets.
Weiser-Künstler is famous for the clarity, the minerality, and the austerity of their Rieslings. These are wines that taste like distillates of minerals, like teas made from rocks. In only its second vintage, this "village-level" wine has already become an insider's secret - an insider's secret let out of the bag by Mosel Fine Wines' glowing review (see below).
The 2022 vintage has quickly become famous for its lightness, its energy. This wine flaunts the depth that this "light" vintage can carry. This bone-dry wine is only 10% alcohol, yet it has an undeniable presence and length.
Among serious Riesling collectors, these wines are simply foundational. The biggest commercial obstacle with these wines is not the price, it is the availability. We expect this parcel to sell quickly.

Mosel Fine Wines: "The 2022er Trarbacher Riesling Trocken is a bone-dry wine (with 2 g/l of residual sugar) which comes from fruit picked in the Schlossberg and Taubenhaus. This yellow-colored wine offers a still rather backward nose initially marked by residual scents from its spontaneous fermentation. These give only gradually away to grapefruit, earthy spices, a dash of whipped cream, ginger, and smoke. The wine is dry but superbly elegant on the palate with a present but incredibly well integrated acidity. It is subtly tart but also packed with fine spices, a bit of orchard fruits, and herbal elements. The finish is smooth with perfectly integrated and beautifully ripe acidity and great length. This dry wine made in a beautiful Kabinett style is an incredible success!"
