White Burgundy:
Coche, Colin-Morey, Dauvissat, Raveneau & More
This is clearly a list of White Burgundy that speaks for itself.
All of these producers are known to every Burgundy lover. Every year, I fight hard to get decent quantities of many of these. With each passing vintage, it gets more difficult.
I'm happy to offer this list of Burgundy's top talent ranging from 2008-2012 and covering everything from Aligoté to Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet.
Of course, at this level, even Aligoté hits earth-shattering proportions. Coche's 2012 Aligoté shows the saturating intensity and staining minerality that makes his wines practically without peer anywhere. The same goes for Mugnier's 2012 Clos de la Maréchale Blanc. The finesse and textural complexity that it delivers is stunnning. Burghound nails it when he call the wine "lovely."
The smartest thing for me to do is just to cut this short and let you get to the list below. It's not often that multiple vintages of Coche, Colin-Morey and Raveneau rub elbows in these offerings. When you factor in Dauvissat, Lafon, Ramonet Grand Cru and others, the group starts looking very special.
I wish I could say we're looking at robust quantities on any of these, but that's never the reality with this cast of producers. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
