In 2019, I named Adrien Renoir's Les Epinettes my Wine of the Year.
The wine was revelatory to such an extent that it felt like a slap in the face. The wine was that intense, that clear, and elegant.

I was reminded of this when I tasted the Le Cepage recently. The wine blew me away. It is certainly Wine of the Year material.
The Le Cepage has a focused power, soaring finesse, and incredible vividness. It's presented in a seamless weave. I have to be honest that when I tasted it, my attention had drifted to whatever conversation we were having. Soon enough, my attention was snapped back to how impressive the wine was.
Adrien Renoir is located in Verzy, in the northeast corner of the Montagne de Reims. It is one of the most fascinating and diverse terroirs in the region. Unlike the south-facing villages of Ambonnay or Bouzy that produce powerful, bold-fruited wines, Verzy, which faces northeast, produces wines of elegance, clarity, and energy.
The Le Cepage is all Pinot Noir and really showcases the shimmering and lithe framework of Verzy at its best. There's serious drive with hints of dark-berry fruit and explosive floral and herbal notes.
I can't recommend this enough, especially at this sharp pricing. It's simply a dynamite bottle.
