Winter Mixed Case
Big Savings on our Winter Favorites
Every Bottle Discounted 20%!

While there hasn't been a big chill here in NYC, we have found our tastes leaning more towards hearty reds-a sure sign that we are in the winter months.

As such, it seemed appropriate to assemble a cast of our favorite winter bottles.

As usual, this winter mixed case represents the BEST DEAL on these wines: a stellar cast of bottles, discounted 20%!

To cut to the chase, beginning with the reds, we have a strong line-up of gutsy wines along with a couple of lighter, brisker selections. On the hearty side, Plageoles Prunelart is a powerful, fascinating wine from a producer in the Southwest who has done much to resurrect the indigenous grapes of the Gaillac region. Having this with a piece of duck confit and potatoes fried in duck fat will lead directly to bliss. Staying on the esoteric, Eszterbauer's Tüke Bikavér from Hungary is a juicy and powerful wine based on Kékfrankos (Blaufrankish), Kadarka and Bordeaux varietals. Pasquero's Nebbiolo D'Alba delivers plenty of muscle along with classic Nebbiolo character.

The lighter side of the reds are represented by Guillaume's Pinot Noir 09 from Franche-Comte and Vissoux's Beaujolais-Village Traditional VV 2010. Guillaume shows brisk and bright cherry fruit with a silken texture and a touch of earth. Vissoux's 2010 Traditional shows the freshness of the vintage in Beaujolais along bright berry fruit and sneaking sensation of richness. (Please see below for a full list of reds.)

For whites, famed Burgundy producer, Denis Bachelet's, Bourgogne Aligote transcends one's expectations of the Aligote grape delivering a wine with both zip and palate presence. Also, from Burgundy, Sainte Barbe's Macon impresses with its mineral driven purity.

As always, these bottles represent our top picks for the season. These are wines that will suit winter fare whether its bold wines to pair with stews, nervy wines to cut through richness, or whites for oysters and mussels in prime condition.

Please email us at offers@crushwineco.com or call the store at (212) 980-9463. And check out our website regularly, because as the seasons change, so will our mixed case. In fact, we will always have a tailored mixed case available online, so when these 12 bottles run out, don't hesitate to reorder.

Reds

2010 Burlotto Pelaverga
Pelaverga is an obscure grape indigenous to Piedmont and Burlotto is a master of this spicy and floral varietal.

2009 Plageoles Prunelart
Here's another obscure grape. This time from France's Southwest. Prunelart is thought to be a relative of Malbec and it shows in the robust nature of the wine that's backed up by violets and spice.

2010 Lambert Chinon Les Terrasses
Lambert is an emerging star of Chinon. His delicious raspberry and mineral accented Les Terrasses shows his skill at not only producing good wines, but also enjoyable wines.

2009 Fontanes VdP D'Oc
This Cabernet wine from the Languedoc region delivers structured dark fruits with earth tones and minerality. Nicely balanced and food friendly.

2010 Vissoux Beaujolais Traditionelle
Pierre Chermette always makes one of the most serious and impressive Beaujolais-Villages. His 2010 Traditionelle struts vibrant red fruits with a great combination freshness and rich texture.

2008 Eszterbauer Tuke Bikaver
Bikaver means bulls blood and this Hungarian wine, as can be expected is gutsy yet manages to be gulpable at the same time. For all its obscurity, this is actually quite accessible and delicious.

2006 Pasquero Nebbiolo d'Alba
Pasquero's Nebbiolo impresses not only with it's muscle, but also with its varietally correct and complex profile of roses, tar and licorice.

2009 Guillaume Pinot Noir
Hailing from Eastern France, the wine has an expansive nose of red fruits with beautiful minerality and light floral notes. An ever-so-slight tartness adds complexity, while incredible purity of fruit and a wonderful restrained sweetness round out this excellent effort.

Whites
2007 Bachelet Bourgogne Aligote
Bachelet's Aligote is an impressive take on a grape that people often have low expectations of. Bachelet's wine combines citrusy acids with a rich and elegant texture.

2009 Neumayer Gruner Veltliner Engelberg
Neumayer's Gruner Engelberg is made in a detailed and linear style with a clarity that showcases the wine's unique minerality.

2010 St. Barbe Macon Tilles
St. Barbe's Macon is a wine that's commendable for its purity and its mineral style.

2010 Pabiot's Pouilly-Fume
Pabiot's Pouilly-Fume delivers crisp Sauvignon Blanc flavors of grass, gun flint and tangerine.
