Without Peer: 2015 Roumier Chambolle-Musigny

Posted by Ian McFadden

For me, Roumier's Chambolle is the greatest villages wine in all of Burgundy.

Even when you stack it up against other top villages Burgundies, you realize that it exists on its own plane.

Every year, I put just as much effort into tracking down Roumier's Chambolle AC as I do his top Grand Crus. That's how sought-after it is.

As happens often with the vintage, Roumier's 2015 Chambolle takes things to a new level. The vintage elevated villages wines in a shocking way. Roumier's 2015 is truly amazing.

When you catch the right vintage of Roumier's Chambolle, it comes dangerously close to the Platonic ideal of Chambolle - perfumed, delicate and with beautiful finesse. What's extraordinary about 2015 is how it takes the impact and concentration of the vintage and renders it with a lacy, tensile finesse.

When it comes to aging, Roumier's Chambolle astonishes. I've drunk Roumier's '99 Chambolle at least a handful of times and each time it keeps on getting better. If you want evidence that Roumier is one of Burgundy's elite, a status shared with Rousseau and DRC, you don't have to look any further than the Chambolle. I have no doubt that the 2015 will see its 20th birthday in impressive form.

Any time that we offer Roumier's Chambolle, it always sells out in a flash. The 2015 is likely to receive an even stronger response than usual. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
