"Silky, aromatic and super-expressive, the 2019 Rocche is all class." -Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
Roagna is one of Piedmont's great.
Luca Roagna is producing wines with mind-blowing purity and textural allure.

Their 2019s are a chance to witness Roagna in top form. This is simply an extraordinary collection of wines. Antonio Galloni has written: "In the 2019 Barolos and Barbarescos, readers will find a set of super-classic wines."
Today, I'm happy to offer one of the highlights of Roagna's 2019s, the Barolo Rocche di Castiglione.Â
Rocche is a relatively new addition to the Roagna lineup. In no time, it became one of the top wines. Sadly, Roagna's holdings in Rocche are a mere 0.5ha.Â
Barolo Rocche is one of Barolo's top sites. In Rocche, you find a gorgeous balance between the more muscular Barolos of Monforte and Serralunga and the more perfumed examples from La Morra. Rocche leads with beautifully complex floral, red fruit, and spice notes, backed by a firm edge of tannin. Above all, Rocche is about aromatics and elegance.
Roagna's work with the site is world-class. The 2019 is the fourth vintage that we've seen from the site and it's a stunning vintage for the wine. Galloni calls it "wonderfully nuanced [and] sublime". That helps capture the complexity and incredible purity of fruit that this wine has on offer.
There's not much more that needs to be said. This is a brilliant wine from Roagna.
